Techies Go Green is partnering with Green Belt’s Forest in a Box initiative for an inspiring afternoon of tree planting in Longford—a hands-on opportunity to contribute to Ireland’s growing network of native woodlands and take meaningful climate action as a community.

🌱 What to Expect:

  • Learn about the environmental and carbon benefits of reforestation from the Green Belt team

  • Network with fellow Techies Go Green members in a relaxed, outdoor setting

  • Plant native Irish tree species as part of an expert-led woodland creation initiative

🧤 What to Bring:

  • Outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes or wellies

  • Rain gear

  • Gloves if you have them (some will be provided)

🚘 How to Get There and Schedule for the Day:

We’ll be meeting at 1:00 PM at the Texaco Ballinack to gather food and drinks before heading to the planting site. To reach the site by public transit, take the Dublin-Sligo train to Edgeworth Station. The timetable can be found here. If you’re arriving via train, please let us know in advance so that we can arrange carpool pickup for you.
