Techies Tour Farnham House Estate Nature Walk with Maurice Ryan Director Green Belt

  • Turlough hill Ireland Ireland (map)

Join Us for a Guided Nature Walk at Farnham Estate, Cavan 🌿

Techies Go Green is delighted to invite our members to a guided nature walk through the stunning grounds of Farnham Estate Hotel, Cavan, hosted by Maurice Ryan of Green Belt, with an ecologist accompanying the walk.

Set within 1,300 acres of woodland and parkland, Farnham Estate is a place of real majesty and wonder. Much of the estate’s forestry and woodland dates back to the mid-1800s, creating a rich mosaic of mature trees, open skies, and diverse habitats thriving under a protected canopy.

The woodland is carefully safeguarded by the current owner, who is firmly committed to ensuring that nothing is cut unnecessarily. This long-term approach to stewardship has allowed biodiversity to flourish across the estate.

Green Belt has recently completed an in-depth habitat and biodiversity study of the resort, focusing on the existing nature value of the land and identifying natural, long-term, and sustainable initiatives to further enhance biodiversity over time. During the walk, Maurice and the ecologist will share insights from this study and explain how different habitats connect, support one another, and allow the ecosystem to thrive in a peaceful, protected environment.

As we move through the estate, we’ll pause to explore specific areas, gaining a deeper understanding of how nature works in harmony across the landscape.
