Visit to Bia Energy Anaerobic Digestion Plant
Techies Go Green members recently visited Bia Energy's anaerobic digestion facility in Huntstown, Dublin, for an insightful tour of one of Ireland's leading renewable energy projects.
The Bia Energy team provided a warm welcome and an engaging overview of how unavoidable food waste is transformed into renewable biomethane and nutrient-rich biofertiliser through anaerobic digestion. Seeing the process firsthand brought the scale and impact of circular economy solutions to life in a way that simply can't be appreciated from presentations alone.
The visit offered valuable insights into the role anaerobic digestion can play in reducing emissions, diverting waste from landfill, supporting local agriculture, and strengthening Ireland's renewable energy infrastructure. Thank you to the Bia Energy team for an educational and inspiring experience, and to all our members who joined us on the day.
