This session is designed to be practical and discussion led, with time for questions and practical advice.

Whether you are just starting out or looking to strengthen your approach, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how to turn your carbon footprint data into real actionable steps.

Workshop Overview

For many organisations, the largest share of their greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint is not produced directly on-site or through purchased energy, it occurs across their wider value chain. These emissions, known as Scope 3 emissions, often represent the majority of a company’s total climate impact, making them essential to understand, measure, and manage.

This online skills workshop is designed to help businesses build practical knowledge and confidence in identifying, calculating, and responding to Scope 3 emissions requirements—especially as customers, investors, regulators, and reporting frameworks increasingly demand greater transparency.

Understanding your carbon footprint is a critical first step toward meaningful climate action, and knowing what to do with the data is key to decarbonising your business.

Why This Matters Now

Businesses are under growing pressure to demonstrate credible progress on climate action. Many companies already measure their Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, but without Scope 3 data, the overall emissions picture is incomplete.

Scope 3 emissions are increasingly becoming a requirement for:

  • sustainability reporting

  • supplier and customer disclosures

  • procurement qualification

  • transition planning

  • net zero commitments

Agenda

  • A recap of the need and uses for Scopes 1 & 2 calculations as covered in our earlier workshop.

  • What is Scope 3 and why you need to calculate Scope 3.

  • The most commonly requested Scope 3 data as part of CSRD, VSME, ESRS,and supplier data requests.

  • Steps to measure Scope 3 emissions.

  • A demonstration of the user interface of the Scope 3 parts of the OpenCO2net carbon footprint calculator.

  • How to access this scope 3 calculator capability from your current Techies Go Green free subscription.
