The Ireland Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) has announced a new partnership with Techies Go Green, a non-profit organisation focused on helping businesses become verifiably sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint. The partnership was formally announced on Earth Day, 22 April, during the Urban Sustainability Forum at the GEC in Dublin.

This collaboration forms part of PMI Ireland’s Social Impact and Sustainability strategy and is aimed at addressing a practical challenge many organisations face: turning sustainability ambition into consistent, measurable delivery.

PMI Ireland brings experience in project, programme, and portfolio management — capabilities that are often missing when organisations try to implement sustainability initiatives at scale. Its role will be to support structured delivery, strengthen governance, and ensure that outcomes are clearly defined and tracked.

A key element of this is PMI’s sustainability-focused content, including Green Project Management (GreenPM). Through training, certifications, practical guidance, and standards, GreenPM provides a way to integrate sustainability directly into how projects are planned and delivered, rather than treating it as an add-on.

Techies Go Green complements this with a strong network and practical frameworks that help organisations assess, validate, and improve their sustainability performance. Its focus on the tech sector, combined with a growing cross-industry community, creates a platform for scaling impact and accelerating climate action.

Together, the two organisations aim to close the gap between strategy and execution. The partnership will focus on applying structured project delivery to sustainability initiatives, increasing awareness and capability, and creating opportunities for collaboration across sectors.

Initial activities will include joint events and thought leadership, starting with the Urban Sustainability Forum on Earth Day, where the partnership will be formally introduced.

Driving Impact to Elevate the World

This collaboration reflects a shift from fragmented sustainability efforts to more disciplined, outcome-driven delivery. By combining project management expertise with sustainability frameworks and an engaged ecosystem, PMI Ireland and Techies Go Green aim to support organisations in delivering tangible and scalable impact.
